How to Enter the Newspaper Ad of the Month

Just one easy step - email us the ad you want entered, including publication date and name.  We'll then tearsheet it to make sure it gets on the table for judging. Please make sure you read the following to ensure your ad is eligible.

ENTRY CRITERIA
  • All qualifying advertisements must have appeared in a New Zealand newspaper between 1st June 2011 – 31st May 2012, in the corresponding month of judging (for example to be considered for September Newspaper Ad of the Month, your ad must have run in a newspaper in September).
  • You may nominate yourself (send advertiser details, appearance date and newspaper to ideas@nabs.co.nz) or the NAB and its member newspapers may nominate you for selection.  Acceptance of this nomination is deemed to be acceptance of all other terms and conditions.
JUDGING CRITERIA AND WINNING ADS
  • Ads will be shortlisted each month for judging by an industry panel.  The final selection is at the discretion of the NAB and no further discussion will be entered into.
  • The NAB reserves the right to award a monthly winner at its sole discretion.
  • Judges are not allowed to select advertisements from their own agencies.
  • All winning Newspaper Ad of the Month entries are automatic finalists in The Newspaper Ad of the Year.
  • Each Newspaper Ad of the Month winning entry will receive an announcement in the “What’s New” section of AdMedia, as well as posted on the NAB website www.newspapers.co.nz and via a press release to the industry.
  • The money prizes are allocated to a specific ad and awarded to the specific team or individual who are named as the originators of the ad by the relevant agency when the awards are first announced in the relevant month.
  • Each Newspaper Ad of the Month winning creative team will receive $250 cash prize.
  • Where a cash prize is won by a creative team, the prize money will be divided equally between the members of that team.
  • Any tax or other legal charges becoming due as a result of the prize are to be borne by the winner(s) of the prizes.
  • The NAB will pay the entry fee for each of the Newspaper Ad of the Month winning advertisements to enter the 2012/2013 CAANZ Axis Awards (appropriate to the entry criteria for CAANZ Axis Awards).
  • Responsibility for the actual entry and material for the awards remains with the advertiser or agency.
